Clothes

I loves clothes! But I love the clothes that I make myself even more. I really like to design shirts and like to spend hours painting on them so I thought I'd share some of them with you.

Random

I know my blog has been random. But at this point in my life, that is what I am right now. I am doing a Communication major and double minor in Economics and Studio Art. I haven't decided on anything big about the future and that's really what my blog reflects. My friend Lauren is a random person too but she is ambitious and spontaneous and will probably do something extraordinary with her life. I can only hope my life doesn't turn out ordinary.

Movies to watch over break

Black Swan came out on Dec. 3rd and because I love dance and psycho thrillers, I really want to watch this! However, it's only been showing in San Francisco theatres so far. So I will wait until finals are over to head to the city!

Another movie that I really want to watch is Burlesque. Yes, Christina Aguilera probably isn't the greatest actor, but her voice and the dancing in the movie and all the costuming should be worth watching.

Stress stress stress OMG

It's the start of finals weeks and I am figuring out a study plan. It's like I'm preparing for a battle. I have one final everyday this coming week. So five finals, one each day, so I'll officially start winter break on Friday. Exciting!! So I guess it's not as bad as some people who have two finals in a day. I like that I can study for one final, take it, and then forget all about it and start studying for the next final.
Anyway, I feel like we college students have so much to worry about when finals roll around. All the work we've been procrastinating on is catching up. We have to worry about getting sleep. And we worry about (well at least I do) eating the right foods so I don't end up constipated or desiring to poo during the 3 hour span of the final. I also don't want to look like a zombie after finals week.  I found this list of stress management tactics that you can use to relieve some of those finals related stress. Go de-stress and good luck everyone else on your finals!

Black Friday

Black Friday was a fail. A major fail. Malls were open at 12am so my brother and I decided to take a nap after the family Thanksgiving party and wake up at 3am to go to the mall. That did not happen. We woke up at 4:30am because my brother's friend called him to ask him where he was. It was so hard to wake up! But we did it. We drove off and arrived at the mall around 5am and I really needed coffee so I decided to go to Starbucks first. The line was SO LONG for Starbucks. People waited in line for almost an hour so I decided to suck it up and not get coffee. I shopped around, but got scared off by the long lines for the registers. I obviously do not have the patience to be a Black Friday shopper. Anyway, my brother bought a pair of boxers with bananas on it. And that was it. That was our shopping spree.
I do have to commend myself for experiencing my first ever Black Friday though. All of my Fridays have always been--not black.

Thanksgiving Dinner

For the first time in my life, my family decided to roast a turkey! It was a great success I have to say and the best tasting one I've ever had. You see, a lot of Asian families here prefer to eat chicken/duck on Thanksgiving rather than eat turkey because turkeys are so huge and not too flavorful or tender. That wasn't the case this year. We marinated our turkey in beer for 2 days and added all the flavoring the day we roasted it. We also stuffed it with glutinous rice. It took so long to roast! But it did turn out yummy =].

I want a camera!

I can't wait until I get a camera so that I can actually post some pictures onto this blog. Maybe on black friday? Anyone have good suggestions for a decent camera? Sorry the blog has been pretty bland.

Elections

 http://vote.sos.ca.gov/contests/statewide/
You can find the results of the election in the above link.
I actually didn't vote. I didn't vote during the 2008 presidential election either. I am not even registered to vote yet. Is that bad? I've been told many times that I should use utilize the citizenship I have and to "have a say" in politics. Will that really make a difference though? Sometimes I wonder how many students do not vote in these elections. I know that many of the people I've talked to didn't vote. Many don't go out of their way to do it. Since we have so many life necessities that we can rely on the internet for, I think voting could be one of those possibilities. You know, we're so caught up on the things we need to do for ourselves and being distracted by all the technology that we have access to.  If voting can be one of those things where you can go online, register, and cast your vote, there would be an increase in voting participation. That way, people don't have to go out of their way or rush to and from work, school, and whatever else they have to do. We have enough secure technology to pull it off. Just sayin.

amazing make up!

I just want to share some cosmetic products that I use everyday because they actually work. If anyone is looking for a SUPER good concealer, I would recommend AMAZING COSMETICS concealer. It has a very high pigmentation and so a little bit of it is enough to cover spots you want to hide. I am addicted to it! You can get it at any ULTA cosmetics stores and select Sephora stores. A really good foundation that I've started using is Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. It really is "stay in place" and lasts for a whole day from morning until night. It also has spf 10. This is also highly pigmented and gives your skin perfect coverage. It rained a few days ago and the makeup didn't run off. When it's hot, your skin still maintains that matte finish. I probably wouldn't recommend it to people who have really dry skin unless they have a good lotion/moisturizer. For people will combination, normal, and oily skin: Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation is a really good investment!

Smile

A smile is such an important factor about making a good impression on people upon meeting them. And even after you get to know people too! Teeth whitening isn't a permanent procedure. The foods we eat, our hygiene, the drinks we choose, and our lifestyle can all affect the color of our teeth. Here are some tips to keep up the maintenance of your bright teeth.

When squeezed on top of regular toothpaste, the hydrogen peroxide in Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster ($5; drugstores) preserves brightness.

Whitening strips has the bleaching agent hydrogen peroxide with strips to hold it in place to boost lightening; wear 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks.
Similar to pricey professional bleaching, iWhite Light Activated Whitening Kit ($38; CVS) uses a built-in light to activate peroxide foam strips that sit on your teeth 20 minutes for 5 consecutive days.

Test Post

I don't know exactly what I will be posting about yet but I do have some ideas to play around with. I'm thinking about stuff like food choices, places, exercise, lifestyle choices...and within each blog I will include my perspective in regards to the topic. In each blog I will include an artistic photo that can hopefully provide a visual representation of my thoughts. I have no idea how this is gonna turn out but I hope it works! =)
